Believe True Love Can Come at Any Age

I recently spent time with three women friends who are amazing, strong, and interesting women. Two are in their mid sixties, one in her fifties and all of them mentioned that they want to find love, again. Needless to say, sometimes, when a woman of certain age decides to date and open her heart again, it brings up a host of concerns, beliefs and insecurities.

The biggest belief is the one that has been statistically proven—there are more available single women than single men in the pool when you get to your fifties, sixties and beyond. The other belief and worry, of course, is that a woman of a certain age is going to be hard pressed to find a guy who can be the right match in intellect, education, accomplishments, spirit and interests, and also be able to love the way they women want to be loved.

Then of course the fears come flooding in – I’m too old, wrinkled, flabby, picky, and I feel unattractive.   There is the fear that there might not be someone who can embrace you as you are.

I believe we have to start by embracing ourselves for who we are.

My three friends, who are fit and beautiful women, shared that the idea of “dating” is a little unsettling and sometimes seems fruitless. But they are open and trying to stretch. And that is exactly what you need to do when you are looking for love – open the windows and the doors to life so love can find you.

One of the most important parts of the journey to finding true love is faith. You have to believe in your soul mate or true love, and trust that there is someone special out there, just for you.

I wrote these prayers to offer a boost in those times when it feels as if true love has passed you by, or that it will never come again.

Pray for healing of past heartache, to be made ready for a true and healthy love, and pray for the soul mate who is meant to be by your side.  No matter what your faith or background, it can’t hurt to say a little prayer.

Reawakening to Love

The season of love is upon us.

The heart reawakens I reclaim my birthright

and take a stand for my own self- worth

and innate ability to love and live in the embrace of love.

I have had trouble with love in the past.

I have been disappointed.

My heart has been hurt.

I was once lonely, angry, unhappy, sad, and worried.

I used to believe you can’t find true, lasting, soulful love.

But I choose to heal this now.

I choose love. And to find true love.

And I make a new choice to reclaim the innocence of the heart

and reconnect to soulful love.

Please Heal My Wounded Heart

Please help me heal

From grief, loss and the pain of love gone wrong.

And love that has been lost.

Let me leave deep heartache it in my past.

And be whole and happy again.

In my fear of never finding true love

I have been needy and overly-anxious,

Desperate and too willing to settle.

Please calm the need in me that leads to unwise choices.

Fill the emptiness in my heart that makes me crave unhealthy love.

Restore my faith in love and relationships

And grant me the ability to love myself fully.

And to feel lovable and wanted from within.

Let the healing process must begin inside my heart.
