As a young child growing up in Japan, I had material comforts. However, I had many insecurities and did not feel that I “belonged.” My parents divorced when I was a teen and I came to Los Angeles excited to start college. I did well academically, but there were many areas in my life that needed healing. I had rejected many of the dogmas and values that I grew up with, but did not know what to replace them with. I experienced the challenges of marriage, raising a family and single parenthood. I even experienced what it was like to be in an abusive relationship and to lose everything material and live in a shelter. I was led to the University of Santa Monica and experienced Soul-Centered education in a supportive and loving environment. I spent several years becoming more aware of my issues and patterns and “peel the layers” and experience a deep healing!! Over the years I had decided on a career path of becoming a therapist and became one of approximately 250 with a Masters in Counseling Psychology from the University of Santa Monica and to finally receive my license as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I realize that all of us go through challenges in life, but there is HOPE. I am grateful to have had therapists and other healers who helped me through depression and trauma. I would love to be able to utilize my knowledge and experience to assist you in your life’s journey.
